What they think about Lindal and their Dealer

We just looked at pictures of what our old sunroom looked like compared to our new Lindal Sunroom… WOW, what a difference. We absolutely love our new sunroom.

Our Lindal dealer, Tim Vack of Lakeside Sunrooms, was fantastic during the entire process. We had a death in the family in the middle of construction and Tim practically moved in while we were away to ease our pressure that comes with remodeling.

Deciding on Lindal
Although we had already hired an architect to draw up plans to rebuild a side room that had been flattened by a large tree, we decided on a Lindal sunroom instead when we learned that city building codes required four-foot wide solid walls on each side of each exterior corner. For a nine-by-twelve foot room that would leave only four feet in the center for windows and view. Furthermore, the amount of solid wall underneath the windows would cut down on the view even more. With our Lindal sunroom we have windows from floor to ceiling and from side to side. And the city approved the Lindal plans quickly. As one plan examiner said to the other, "It's a Lindal sunroom." The Change to Our Home > The quality of our Lindal sunroom makes it work as an extension of the living room, rather than as an add-on. Our main room now seems larger and transformed, even though it is less than a foot longer than it was. We now have a second, southerly view from the main room to go with what had been the dominant view to the east. Natural light now reaches the couch and every chair in the rest of the living room; we don't turn on the lamps to read during the day. More than just a Sunroom; Because the sun doesn't always shine in western Washington, we have been pleased to discover that the sunroom also works as a rain room, a snow room, as well as a moon-watching room, cloud-watching room, blowing leaf-watching room, and bird-watching room. When children visit, they go straight to the sunroom, both to look outside and to play. We've set only light furniture in the sunroom, which children can easily move to clear a play area.

Energy Use
Last winter we used less energy to heat the house than for the previous winter. We had been prepared -- and were expecting -- to pay more for so much glass area. The surprise was that although the average temperature last winter was colder than the previous year's, and we decided to set the nighttime temperature three degrees higher, we used less natural gas than in 2007. The difference was slight, but combined with the colder average temperature and higher thermostat setting, we figure the sunroom actually didn't increase our heating bills and may have decreased it. Using artificial lighting less made a slight difference on electricity. One more thing: There was no feeling of a chill when we stood close to a window in the winter, and the casement windows on both sides provide excellent cross ventilation on warm days. --

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my sunroom!! It added 83 square feet to my small condo, now making it worth so much more. They converted my unusable HOT deck to an awesome interior part of my living space. I spend each morning in the room whether its sunny, gloomy or raining and I get so much more light. When I come home from work, I love sitting under the glass enjoying the stars and my view over the water. On the weekends I take a nap on my chaise lounge in the warmth of my sunroom. The Lindal cedar and the windows are phenomenal pieces of craftsmanship. It has the beauty and warmth of the other fine furniture I have in my home. My dealer, Tim Vack of Lakeside Sunrooms, is by far my “favorite sunroom guy”. He is friendly, outgoing, helpful, creative and was available whenever I called. I love him and the Lindal product so much that I actually volunteered to work in their trade show booth the next season.

I am a Hawaii nut… I LOVE the sun… and, in Western Washington, that can be in short supply most of the year. So what better way to bring me more sunshine than a sunroom. We did our research and decided on the Lindal Cedar Sunroom, through Lakeside Sunrooms, their local distributor. What a FUN project! Tim was outstanding in helping me make decisions and WOW, what an awesome space. The guys who did the installation were fantastic and my new floor representing pebbles and sand is gorgeous! Now our whole family can be together in one space on Holidays and I can have more sunlight anytime I want. This room is more than a sunroom; it’s a moon room, play room, relaxation room, a rain room and last year, even a snow room…. Being outside without being in the elements is what I love. I only have one regret; I wish we would have made it bigger and done it sooner.
